I have owned this for 4 years now. Very comfortable to use and when comparing this to the fabric versions you have a few pros and cons

Pro - when it gets mucky you can wash it in light detergent and warm water
Pro - It sticks to your glass desltop so there is no gliding away from you.
Pro - After hours of use in a recording studio, this has not shown any signs of wear. even the colors are vibrant!
Con- You can notice how mucky it gets (where) your wrist rests. ( treat this as a pro though because you can see the build up and you will clean it. think about how grubby the fabric version gets and how little you can see of muck(sorry i cant think of any nice way to say that lol)

Smaller than you might expect if you didn't read the dimensions but was for my son so absolutely spot on. The pad is removable but securely fastened. The optical mouse tracks accurately and the wrist pad is a big help. It's likely that he is going to be using computers for a long time so while the main input method is a mouse and keyboard, I'm certainly going to make sure he doesn't suffer the wrist pain I sometimes get.- Jim,Mansfield close quote
