I generally hate having to use mouse mats of any sort, and was used to using my entire wooden desk's surface. However, as prolonged use wore the surface (yes, even with an optical mouse), I was forced to add a glass top. At even 4mm thin, the glass was still too thick for an optical mouse to be happy. Hence this purchase. It's simply been brilliant - I do graphics work, & it's improved accuracy for sure. And it being so thin - is unobtrusive enough even to keep a mouse-matophobe happy.- Arif,Northampton close quote
