  I bought this from [a high street catalogue retailer] just over a year ago because I suffer from terrible hay fever. It didn't help either when there was constant demolition work outside my house since 2009. My house became really dusty when I open the windows. This product made a real difference in air quality when I used it. Sadly, my machine broke down. Having lost my receipt, 3M was still willing to replace it under warranty and I now have a working machine again.   Works very well - low setting extremely quiet, middle fairly quiet and high setting much more noticeable. Read lots of positive reviews on this before purchasing and we find it very good - I agree with some other reviews on other sites that state the unit would be even better with a carbon pre-filter ...in fact some other owners of this unit do use universal carbon filters to deal better with larger particles and odours. I've also seen people state that they vacuum the FAPF filter each week to ensure it works efficiently longer, but I'm not sure if this is advised - perhaps light brushing is better.- TH,N Yorks
